⏬ New Generation All-Back Contact Solar Technology
The CMPower 140W panel uses 27.4% efficient Back Contact solar cells, representing a new generation of high-efficiency photovoltaic technology.
Unlike conventional solar cells with electrical contacts on the front surface, ABC (All-Back Contact) technology places all positive and negative electrical contacts on the rear side of the cell. This leaves more of the front surface unobstructed and available for sunlight energy absorption.
The design also creates a clean, seamless, grid-free appearance, giving the panel a sleek all-black finish particularly suited to premium marine, yacht, RV, and van installations.
⏬ 140 Watts from a Compact Footprint
When mounting space is limited, panel efficiency becomes increasingly important.
The CMPower 140W Back Contact panel delivers 140 watts of maximum power from a panel measuring only:
540 × 1085 × 3 mm
21.26 × 42.72 × 0.12 in
With 27.4% efficient solar cells, the panel is designed to provide high power output per available mounting area.
This makes it particularly useful for installations where owners need to maximize available solar generation without covering excessive roof, deck, or bimini space.
⏬ Lightweight & Semi-Flexible
Despite its 140W power rating, the CMPower panel weighs only 1.85 kg (4.08 lb).
Its lightweight construction minimizes additional load on bimini frames, boat structures, van roofs, and other weight-sensitive surfaces.
At just 3 mm thick, the panel also maintains a low-profile installation compared with conventional framed rigid solar modules.
The semi-flexible construction allows installation on suitable curved surfaces, with the datasheet specifying a maximum bend specification of 60°.
Note: This is a semi-flexible solar panel and should only be bent within the manufacturer's specified limits.
⏬ Enhanced Shade Tolerance
Marine and mobile solar installations frequently experience changing or partial shading caused by:
- Masts
- Rigging
- Antennas
- Rails
- Radar equipment
- Bimini hardware
- Roof accessories
- Other nearby structures
The CMPower Back Contact panel incorporates an advanced cell and electrical design intended to improve performance under partial shading, helping make better use of available sunlight in real-world conditions.
This makes it especially useful for marine installations where maintaining completely unobstructed sunlight throughout the day is often difficult.
⏬ Excellent High-Temperature Performance
Solar panel output normally decreases as cell temperature increases, making temperature performance important for panels mounted on exposed boat decks, bimini tops, vans, and rooftops.
The CMPower 140W Back Contact panel features a Pmax temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C, helping limit power loss as panel temperature rises.
Its temperature characteristics are:
- Pmax: -0.26%/°C
- Voc: -0.24%/°C
- Isc: +0.05%/°C
- Operating Temperature: -40°C to +85°C
⏬ Ideal for Bimini Top Solar Installations
The combination of 140W output, lightweight construction, semi-flexible design, and a narrow 540 mm width makes this panel particularly attractive for bimini top solar installations.
Its 21.26 × 42.72 inch footprint allows installers to arrange multiple panels across compatible bimini structures while making efficient use of available canvas area.
At only 4.08 lb per panel, it also adds significantly less structural weight than many conventional framed solar panels.
For boats with limited usable bimini or deck space, the high-efficiency Back Contact cells help maximize solar generation within the available installation area.
⏬ Designed for Marine & Mobile Applications
The CMPower 140W semi-flexible solar panel is designed for real-world installations including:
Boats • Bimini Tops • Boat Decks • Yachts • Sailboats • Vans • RVs • Roof Racks • Rooftops • Curved Surfaces
Its marine-oriented construction includes a waterproof IP67 XC502 junction box, 316 stainless steel mounting holes and eyelets, and testing that includes IEC salt mist and high-temperature humidity conditions.
The black backsheet and all-black Back Contact cell design also provide a clean finished appearance suitable for installations where aesthetics are important.
⏬ Marine-Ready Mounting & Connections
The panel is supplied with six mounting holes/eyelets manufactured from 316 stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant material commonly suited to demanding marine environments.
The grommets are positioned approximately 14 mm from the panel edge.
Electrical connection is provided through:
0.9 m solar cable • 4 mm² conductor • MC4 connectors
Combined with the IP67 waterproof junction box, these features provide a practical foundation for professional marine and mobile solar installations.
